Squid Hole

The blog editor suggests that the writer inserts a "catchy title" here. How much more catchy can we create than "Squid Hole?" This loation is a Sandy-Weld specialty. No one would dare go into Squid Hole, but the Cruising Club of America (CCA) guide recommends one proceeds cautiously to enter the Hole, look around and enjoy the tight squeeze and beautiful surroundings. Drop a hook and spend the night. This is truly a hurricane hole, well-protected from all wind directions.

This view is actually of the mouth as we left. It is perhaps 150 feet wide and 35 feet deep in the middle.

Once in, the view opens up.

... with little arms and coves off from this cove.

But Hurricane Earl is knocking on our eastern front and we must complete our run from Ramea and Burgeo to Port-aux-Basques this day. Tomorrow will be an exciting crossing to Iles de la Madeleine!

Cheers,

Brio
