Nibbling at Quebec Culture

What is at the top of your list in terms of things to enjoy in Quebec City? The sense of history behind this walled city is thick. The narrow streets, the steep hills and the many, many stairs to help you climb and descend, these are all an important part of Quebec. The charming and even playful sense of self here is evident with the impish scenes. And this only scratches the surface.

Let's face it. It is the delicious side of Quebec City and it's sense of humor that attracts us first.

What is not to like about even a petit americano and a croissant loaded with almond paste. Well, not loaded. Just unmistakable. Because with each bite, there is a sense of almond. But what is most striking is the light, flaky, buttery croissant itself. This is what defines a lovely start to a Quebec morning.

Of course, there is a danger of eating too much. This is known to happen, as we can see with this funny pink character. How many croissant does it take? Peut-etre, it is better not to know.

Even blank walls turn to whimsy, as we note who's looking out the windows at us. This artistry is the height of trompe l'oeil. Where does the real facade start and end? Is it winter at the top floors? And spring at the bottom? Or are we just supposed to look and smile?

The same sense of artistry can catch one's eye, even as we wait for our dejeuner.

In any case, bon appetit!

Cheers,

Brio
